Nachdem die Göttin Hera sie der eigenen Sprache beraubt hat, bleibt der Nymphe Echo nichts, als fremde Worte zu wiederholen. Unfähig, dem schönen Narziss ihre Liebe zu gestehen, muss sie zusehen, wie er sich in sich selbst verliebt, und verkümmert zur bloßen, selbstlosen Stimme. In Nymph tritt die tragische Figur nun aus der Obskurität heraus und in einen neuen Körper: den der Choreografin und Tänzerin Taous Bertrand, die in ihrem anmutigen Solo Echos Mythos als transfeminine Erfahrung deutet. Dabei schafft sie ein besonderes Spiel der Hände – Werkzeuge, „um einen Körper, ein Gesicht, ein Selbstbild neu zu gestalten.“

After the goddess Hera robbed her of her language, the nymph Echo can do nothing but repeat the words of others. Incapable of professing her love to the beautiful Narcissus, she is forced to look on as he falls in love with himself – withering away, nothing of her remains except a selfless voice. In Nymph, the tragic figure steps out of obscurity and into a new body: that of choreographer and dancer Taous Bertrand, whose graceful solo interprets the myth of Echo as a transfeminine experience. In this, she creates a remarkable play of the hands – tools “to reform a body, a face, a self-image.”
