permanent temporär

permanent temporär evolves over a five-week series of interconnected invitations and events, culminating in an exhibition whose opening will only take place at the end of the process. In a specially designed setting, the (hi)stories of kex—, a collectively conceived exhibition space, are (re)constructed, negotiated, performatively explored, and become tangible through artistic interventions. The project searches for voids or the (seemingly) absent, highlighting the contradictions between the permanently new and ever-temporary. It departs from explorations into artists’ biographies and the transformation of cultural institutions and concepts of art in recent decades in Vienna and beyond.
