Between Occupation and Establishment: Social Centers in Vienna

As part of the exhibition building < against, the discussion with Robert Foltin (Fuzi) “Between Occupation and Establishment: Social Centers in Vienna” will take place. Moderation: Ida Zahradnik. (the discussion will be held in german, no registration required)

Robert Foltin (Fuzi) will talk about squatting and its institutionalization as described in the books “Und wir bewegen uns doch” (2004, edition grundrisse) and “Und wir bewegen uns noch” (2011, Mandelbaum Verlag), as well as social movements after 2011. The focus will be on the differences and similarities in the self-organization of squatting in Vienna.
 

building < against refers to the non-conformist production of space, resistant buildings, protest architectures, autonomous and functionally open architectures, the preservation and cultivation of places, radical reconstructions. And even more radical practices of not building at all.
