Performance and talk with Belinda Kazeem-Kamiński
Moderated by Jannik Franzen and Cana Bilir-Meier

Belinda Kazeem-Kamiński will present her performance “Unearthing” in which she explores approaches to colonial photographs: “there is a connection, something that clings to me – the immediacy of a colonial flashback. An uncanny familiarity lingers...” The following talk will also focus on her theoretical works and books like Das Unbehagen im Museum. Postkoloniale Museologie (2009, co-editor).

Belinda Kazeem-Kamiński is an artist and social theorist with an interest in de- and postcolonial theory and Black feminism. Her work combines photography, collages, and performances, reconstructing the making of bodies marked as Other(s) in Western society. She is interested in the past, present, and future of Black radical imagination.
