Exhibition, Maneuvers, Lectures, Discussion Rounds, Topping-out Ceremony

The space of an exhibition hall opens itself to discussion. In the Kunsthalle Exnergasse, diverse spatial situations, alternative architectures and displays will be investigated, defined and exhibited on-site in reaction and provocation to the existing spatial qualities.
The departure points and working materials for weekly spatial interventions, adaptations and dramatisations emerge from the current repositioning debate around the Kunsthalle Exnergasse and from mobile wall elements – proposed by Vienna architect team propeller z – which should function as flexible room and presentation structures.
Between “White Cube” and total design, artists and architects amongst others will work on room situations which relate to the exhibition hall and it’s architecture as well as respond to the Kunsthalle Exnergasse’s position and strategy as a platform for artistic production, presentation and communication in urban Vienna and beyond.
A weekly (wednesdays) change in the exhibition hall’s appearance, diverse maneuvers and constellations in space, theories and practices, discussion rounds and a topping-off ceremony become the possible building blocks of a repositioned field of action in Vienna and (in general).
