Tobias Tavella

We are pleased to welcome Tobias Tavella to our artist and research residency program from April to May and from October to November 2026.

Tobias Tavella, born February 8, 1990, in Brixen, Italy, returned to La Val in the Val Badia valley after completing his education. Presently based in Bolzano and the Val Badia, he is active both in the arts and in agriculture. He studied design at the Berlin University of the Arts (UDK) from 2010 to 2015 and honed his craftsmanship in the wood workshop of Studio Olafur Eliasson between 2014 and 2017. His social engagement is also evident in his experimental music workshops at schools as part of the “Music Van” project organised by the Bolzano-based Kids Culture Club. Tavella’s works were most recently presented in 2024 at the Renaissance exhibition at the Museion Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Bolzano as well as at the Biennale Gherdëina in Val Gardena.
