Johanna Bruckner: Terra X

The exhibition »love and other rhythms« unfolds through a collective design and experience in shared time and space, suggesting the idea of community as a constantly transforming organism. With this in mind, individual contributions keep invigorating and changing the configuration of the exhibition.

With Terra X, Johanna Bruckner presents a performance that takes a critical look at »Holochain«, a crypto-currency that generates its added value from digital social interaction. Bruckner examines the currency as a
potential breeding ground, asking urgent questions on the increasing capitalization of relationality in the age of surveillance capitalism. With her so-called »Holochain Body Contract« Bruckner introduces care and crypto-solidarity as key factors for more democratic and decentralized forms of potential future communities and problematizes existing power dynamics in the digital world.

Johanna Bruckner’s practice explores the increasing capitalization of relationality in an age of surveillance capitalism. Exhibitions and performances include Transmediale 2020, Berlin; Kunstraum Niederösterreich, Vienna; 58. Venice Biennale; KW, Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin; documenta 13, Kassel.

The exhibition »love and other rhythms« embodies a multi-relational, performative platform where artists and visitors alike are invited to reflect on the processes and conditions of togetherness. The selected contributions attend to various social constellations and thus offer a breeding ground for a speculative world-making.
