The city as a queer memorial space
Walk through the 9th district
As part of the exhibition "Queer Art Spaces Vienna 2023", QWIEN offers a walk through the 9th district, which is dedicated to the persecution of queer people during the Nazi era and is understood as a sign of remembrance in public space. The walk starts at the WUK and leads through the 9th district to the criminal police control center on the Rossauer Lände. On the way there are about 7-9 stations with different stories of persecution.
